Meet Jennifer Gamper Meenan
Philosophy
Infertility is such a loss of control. As an LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker), as well as a Registered Nurse, I have a unique vantage point for helping couples in a crisis caused by fertility treatment to feel empowered throughout their process.
My medical background as a nurse allows me to truly understand an individual's point of view on fertility medicines and procedures. My experience as a Social Worker equips me to facilitate discussion with couples, putting them at ease by delving into the emotional aspects of treatment. This helps them to better understand and manage what to expect down their rollercoaster ride to parenthood.
If you ask me what my present private-practice clients would say about my work, they would tell you that I listen – truly listen – to their stories and voices. We all need to be heard, which is why this is always the first step I take in every relationship.
And if you ask me what I love most about my work, I will tell you that it's the ability to help an individual or couple to feel more hopeful and ready to face the next challenge.
Background
My years of experience are vast and deep. I received my Bachelor's degree in Nursing in 1993 and worked first as a pediatric nurse at Saint Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, NJ, and then as a Nurse Coordinator in their Department of Reproductive Medicine. After obtaining an MSW at Columbia, I continued working in the field of reproductive medicine since 1999. I am presently working as the Director of Mental Health for Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) of NJ.
